Tragic Mishap Claims Life of Gogglebox Star George Gilbey

George Gilbey, known for his role on the popular Channel 4 show Gogglebox, tragically passed away at the age of 40 in a scaffold-covered warehouse accident.

George gained fame alongside his mother Linda and stepfather Pete McGarry when they joined Gogglebox during its second season in 2013. His warm presence quickly endeared him to fans.

After leaving the show in 2014, George briefly appeared on Celebrity Big Brother before transitioning to a career as an electrician. In 2019, he served a three-month prison sentence for driving under the influence. Following his release, he found work at a warehouse.

News of George’s passing shocked his friends and community, who gathered at a local bar while police investigated the warehouse where the incident occurred.

Essex Police confirmed that George fell while working at height in the warehouse, resulting in his untimely death. An air ambulance was dispatched, but tragically, George succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Despite his past struggles, George had been working hard to turn his life around for his family. His friends spoke of his dedication to his loved ones and his efforts to improve his health and well-being.

George’s passing brings additional grief to his mother Linda, who had previously lost her husband Pete to colon cancer. George also leaves behind his ex-girlfriend Gemma Conway and their daughter Amelie.
